First Jump Course

The first jump course is the first step in your journey to becoming a licensed skydiver. The instructor or coach will teach you everything you will need to know to make your first skydive. From fitting your gear to landing your own parachute! Not ready to land your own parachute try a TANDEM SKYDIVE instead!

Method

Currently we offer IAD (Instructor Assisted Deployment). You will be fitted with our top of the line, state of the art equipment, and will fly to an altitude of approximately 4,500 feet above the ground to make your first jump. As you exit the aircraft your USPA certified instructor will deploy your parachute for you and you can enjoy a beautiful and peaceful parachute ride while an instructor on the ground guides you to the landing area by giving you instructions on a radio.

After your first jump, you will continue your training working on skills to make you a safe and responsible skydiver. Along this journey you'll make great friends and become part of an amazing community!

First jump

The cost is $200, which includes instruction and first jump.

Additional jumps

Additional jumps are $70 each for solo jump (once you have been signed off) or $100 each for a coached jump. (Participants must call ahead to schedule their IAD skydive FIRST 5 JUMPS)

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot in the first jump course and will be applied toward the cost of your first jump. Your deposit is NOT refundable. Participants must be at least 18 years old, weigh 225 pounds or less and be in good physical health. The first jump course is an all day training course, so plan accordingly. IAD skydives are available on weekends so call now!

The Mid-America Sport Parachute Club uses USPA rated Instructors to teach our students.
